10 Ways to Make an Extra $1,000 This Weekend

Looking to make some extra money this weekend? Here are 10 ways to do just that! Whether you're looking to make a little bit of money or a lot, we've got you covered. The goal is that within all these suggestions you can combine the extra income. So, without further ado, let's get started!

  1. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a reputable survey company with 15+ million members. It has been in operation for over a decade and has paid over $380 million. ( the hype is for real)

Besides taking surveys, you can also earn money watching videos, shopping online, searching the web, or completing promotional offers for extra pay.

Swagbucks also has a FREE $5 sign-up bonus and I literally signed up and redeemed Chimes offer and got $250!

    Let’s do the math: 100SB equals $1

Sign up for Swagbucks here then claim your FREE $5 signup bonus!

  2. Get Refunds From Paribus

We’ve all been there! Did you buy stuff online and the prices suddenly dropped?

Well, those stores owe you money!

It could be $20, $50, or maybe even get $200 now!

It’s a free cool app called Paribus that makes sure you get your refunds back.

    So, how does this work?

Sign up for a free account then allow Paribus to scan your emails for any purchase receipts. These receipts may be from hundreds of online retailers, and that’s no problem. Paribus has got your back.

You don’t even need to know that there is a price drop. You’ll just receive the refunds once the whole process is over.

Let’s do the math: The average item goes on sales on sale in 72 hours (depending on the item)

  3. Teaching Kids Online

Teaching young kids in your spare time can actually earn you money and you can literally do it at any time of the day. There are online teaching platforms like Open English and Outschool are always looking for new teachers to add to their team. I personally have taught with Open English for 6 years and it was an AMAZING extra income

Just get a high-speed internet connection, a pair of headsets, Zoom installed on your computer, and a playful attitude.

With Outschool you actually create your own curriculum!

Let’s do the math: Most of these online tutoring companies pay $24-$38 per hour on average. So this part-time online job can net you $1000 per month or more!

P.S Sign up to teach with Outschool and get $100

  4. Odd jobs:

Seriously, One way to make extra money this weekend is to do some odd jobs for people in your community. This could include things like mowing lawns, walking dogs, or shoveling snow in the winter. One popular trending non-traditional odd job can be being a plant sitter ( yea, it’s a thing) people go on vacation and can’t leave their plant babies.

Let’s do the math: if you have 5 clients with a minimum of 2 plants each and you charge $3 per day, per plant that’s a minimum of $90 just for staying home! If you have to travel to these plants ( that’s another fee)

One last tip: this could work for caretaking pet hamsters, bunnies, and reptiles!

5. Yard Sale:

Let it go, if you don't know it’s there it’s time to let it go! The average American lives with 400 pounds of junk where they forget about it or better yet they have no more use for it. Live in an apartment? That's okay! We all have friends or family members that own a home. You can coordinate with them so they can get rid of stuff and negotiate a mini commission. Already living minimalistic? Plan a yard sale for others. Some people don't want to plan to make the yard sale happen o offer your services and Marie Kondo for them and charge them a yard sale planning fee!

Let’s do the math: Sell 10 items of clothing, Sell 10 types of houseware, Sell 10 pieces of furniture, games, or kid toys all for $5 each that’s $150! I am just being conservative here but go wild! That Yard sale planning fee can range from $75-$300 depending on the value of the items they are selling

6. Become a Personal Shopper

If you Love shopping this might be right your alley! There are tons of people who really dislike going into the stores/malls to buy birthday gifts or they are planning a party and need help with curbside pickup without the crazy third a party fees. There is at least one wedding going on each week and a baby is born literally every single day. Now you might have to go through a third-party app for safety reasons ( we don’t know you) but there is also an advantage in reaching out to the elderly community in your neighborhood for a referral as well!

Let’s do the math: You have some extra stuff lying around that you don’t need, so why not sell it online? You can use sites like Facebook Marketplace or Nextdoor to list your items and get paid for them once they sell. This is a great way to declutter your home and make some extra cash at the same time!

7. Provide online services

If you have a special skill or talent, why not use it to make some extra money? You could offer things like car detailing, or even home-cleaning services. If you’re into art or photography you can even offer those services locally. There are always people looking for someone with your particular set of skills, so put yourself out there and see what you can. Fiverr is an online marketplace that can earn you money pretty fast. As a Fiverr seller, you can do a number of tasks for money.

Let’s do the math: 5 cars detailing at a very modest price of $30 each bring in $150 and that’s just for one day. Double up on a Sunday and make $300 easy.

8. Improv Actor/Actress

Yup, you heard correct! Did you know there are thousands of actors and Actresses in the making needing to practice lines with someone? When I lived in LA I did this for free but I do know many exhausts their friend’s network and might need a last-minute read. Plus you can do this virtually!

Let’s do the math: 5 Improve gives at 1 hour each for $25 per gig brings in a total of $100! This is being modest and you can find tons of actors on Facebook groups or Acting Schools.

9. Rent Out Your Car

Ride-sharing companies like Uber and Getaround normally hire people to drive people around town or in the neighborhood for extra pay. This can be a great side hustle for people who have some time on their hands. But, if you have a car and can’t drive people yourself, you can rent it at Turo and make extra money that way.

Turo is a peer-to-peer car rental company that you can use to earn up to $6,000 per year.

Let’s do the math: Average car rental is $89 a day so 3 days bring you about $276

10. Invest Your Change

(my favorite!!!!!)

Acorns is an investment app that takes your spare change from online purchases and invests it on your behalf. They will send you $5 immediately after you sign up. ( PLUS, 3 months of FREE grub Hub expires July 9 ) other than that you can still get your $5

If you are searching for ideas to make money, you should consider signing up. Just head over to the website and make a free account, then connect it to your bank account.

Let’s do the math: Every time you shop online they will do calculations of the spare change and invest it for you! So you are making money and investing (trust me this works)

Check it out!

So there you have it! These are just a few of the many ways you can make extra money this weekend. So get out there and start earning! Do you have any other suggestions?
